✓ Day 1: ARRIVAL — ANTANANARIVO: Welcome to Madagascar!
Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport, we will proceed with entry administrative formalities and visa payment. Our representative will greet us and transfer us to the hotel. After final instructions and clarifications about the itinerary, we will have the rest of the day free to relax at the hotel.
✓ Day 2: ANTANANARIVO — ANDASIBE
145 Kms – Approx 4h/4h30 – Paved road but damaged
We will cover 145 km in approximately 4 to 4.5 hours to explore the eastern region of the island. We will make a brief stop in Marozevo to visit the private reserve of Peyrieras or Madagascar Exotique, founded by entomologist André Peyrieras. This reserve offers a fascinating introduction to Malagasy fauna, including reptiles, geckos, amphibians, butterflies, lemurs, and especially chameleons. After a visit to Moramanga for lunch, we will continue 30 km further to reach Andasibe. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a stroll through the village after settling into our rooms.
✓ Day 3: ANDASIBE
This day promises rich exploration in nature. In the morning, we will venture into Analamazaotra National Park in search of the majestic indri-indri, the largest and emblematic lemur of Madagascar. Analamazaotra stands out as the most accessible park to spot this rare and endangered species. Patience will be key as we follow the tracks of these fascinating primates through the dense tropical forest.
In addition to searching for the indri-indri, the lush vegetation of the park is home to 11 other lemur species, such as Eulemur fulvus, Avahi laniger, Eulemur rubriventer, and Varecia variegata. These forest inhabitants coexist with a varied range of endemic, rare, and curious fauna that finds its home in this unique ecosystem.
In the afternoon, we will explore the Vakona Forest Lodge private reserve, located about ten kilometers from the village. The reserve is divided into two sections: lemur islands and the crocodile park. Both areas offer fascinating experiences. This region is likely the perfect setting to capture the best lemur photos throughout our journey.
✓ Day 4: ANDASIBE — ANTSIRABE

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we bid farewell to Andasibe and begin the return journey on the same road to Antananarivo. From the capital, we head south towards Antsirabe. The landscape of the Highlands of Madagascar captivates us with its endless rice fields, picturesque traditional constructions, and unique tombs that stand out on the horizon.
Our first stop in Behenjy, located 42 km south of Antananarivo, provides an opportunity to taste the exquisite Malagasy foie gras, a palate pleasure. We continue our journey to Ambatolampy, known as the city of skilled aluminum pot makers. Here, local artisans open the doors of their workshops, sharing the secrets of their craft in a fascinating encounter with tradition.
The route to Antsirabe resumes, and upon arrival, we immerse ourselves in the charms of this city, ready to explore its corners full of history and authenticity.
✓ Day 5: ANTSIRABE — MORONDAVA: Encounter with Aridity and Baobabs

After a satisfying breakfast, we embark on an early departure to Morondava. The landscape noticeably transforms into a more arid and dry scene, revealing the impact of heat and lack of rain in this region, in stark contrast to the characteristic farmlands of the highlands.
A strategic lunch stop in Miandrivazo, one of the hottest places on the island, allows us to recharge before continuing our journey. Along the way, we will witness everyday scenes that enrich our experience, such as the work of gold seekers in the region.
The highlight of our arrival in Morondava will be announced by the majestic appearance of the baobabs, standing imposingly at the city’s entrance, like welcoming guardians. This encounter with the iconic baobabs will be the prelude to the wonders that await us in this stage of our journey.
✓ Day 6: MORONDAVA — BEKOPAKA: Journey to the Natural Wonde
250 KMS – 07h / 07H30 Paved road + secondary track + ferry crossing
After a hearty breakfast, we prepare for a day of extensive travel. We cover a total of 200 km to reach the picturesque village of Bekopaka, crossing the savannah and the dry forest that characterize the western region of Madagascar. The journey includes the exciting crossing of a famous ferry for about 45 minutes, finally reaching the village of Belo Sur Tsiribihina. After satisfying our appetite, we continue with determination, as the second half of the journey still awaits us. We navigate the Manambolo River and reach Bekopaka by late afternoon.
✓ Day 7: BEKOPAKA: Exploring the Tsingy de Bemaraha
Today we dedicate ourselves to the fascinating discovery of the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, one of the most amazing and photographed landscapes on the island. Early in the morning, we depart from the hotel and head to the park entrance, located 17 km north of the village of Bekopaka. This vast Bemaraha park covers an area of 150,000 hectares.
The southeastern part of the park offers a panoramic visit to the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, where multiple circuit options allow us to explore this mountainous landscape of limestone formations. Characterized by sharp and steep peaks created by the action of erosion and climate, this site captivates us with its uniqueness. After the morning visit, we return to the village. In the afternoon, we meet our guide at the park’s second entrance, located in the same village, to explore the “small Tsingy” together. This stage completes our adventure, revealing the diversity and uniqueness of the biodiversity that the park houses.
✓ Día 8: BEKOPAKA — KIRINDY: Night Exploration in Kirindy

We start our day by taking the road back to the picturesque village of Belo sur Tsiribihina. If time allows, we will arrange a brief excursion through the village before lunch. After crossing the Tsiribihina River, we have approximately forty kilometers to reach the Kirindy National Park. We settle comfortably in the park’s lodge, preparing for the exciting night visit.
The main goal of this experience is to discover the six lemur species that emerge during the night in the park. With a touch of luck, we may also encounter the Fossa or Cryptoprocta Ferox. Recognized as the main predator of lemurs, this large and fierce carnivorous mammal hunts both day and night. It is not uncommon to find the Fossa lurking around the park’s restaurant, searching for sustenance. This evening promises to reveal the fascinating nightlife of Madagascar’s fauna.
✓ Day 9: KIRINDY —MORONDAVA: In-Depth Exploration of Kirindy and Sunset at the Avenue of the Baobabs

The morning is dedicated to an extensive visit to Kirindy National Park, whose name evokes a dense and dry forest reserve that spans 72,000 hectares. The extraordinary richness of its fauna and flora, with a marked endemicity index, gives uniqueness to this enclave. Kirindy stands out as the only park where the Fossa or Cryptoprocta Ferox can be seen in its natural habitat, this carnivorous mammal being the largest and fiercest in Madagascar.
Biodiversity is not limited to the Fossa, as other rare and endangered species coexist freely, including lemurs, birds, reptiles, among others. As for flora, the list is endless, with the presence of medicinal plants and majestic giant baobabs.
In the afternoon, we begin the return to Morondava, making a stop at the Sacred Baobab and the charming “baobabs in love.” The culmination of this extraordinary day is experienced at sunset at the famous Avenue of the Baobabs, a true highlight of our itinerary. This unique setting offers the perfect opportunity to admire, capture photographs, and marvel at the majesty of these iconic trees as the evening falls.
✓ Day 10: MORONDAVA –BELO SUR MER: Coastal Wonders and Maritime Tranquility

We start the day early, strategically anticipating any inconveniences caused by rising tides and rivers that may hinder our path. We venture through a winding road through the savannah to reach Belo sur Mer, a picturesque fishing village located 90 km southwest of Morondava.
Renowned for the craftsmanship in building large traditional boats and the serenity that envelops its beaches, Belo Sur Mer presents itself as an ideal destination for rest and relaxation. Along our journey, we make strategic stops, allowing us to enjoy essential breaks to admire the changing landscapes offered by this astonishing circuit.
The afternoon presents itself as an opportunity to immerse ourselves in maritime activities and explore the wonders that this coastal environment has in store for us. The tranquility of the sea and the beaches of Belo Sur Mer provide a perfect setting to enjoy memorable moments and recharge energy before continuing our journey.

Today, we dive into a day of absolute relaxation in Belo sur Mer. Options are varied and tailored to each preference. The serene white sandy beach invites us to spend the day immersed in crystal-clear waters or enjoy a good book while relaxing under the warm sun.
For those inclined towards exploration, a short walk through the village center offers an enriching experience. In this quiet journey, we may marvel at the mastery of local artisans building their impressive boats. This brief foray will provide us with a deeper understanding of the intricate craftsmanship behind these vessels, revealing their importance for everyday life in this charming corner of Madagascar.
✓ Day 12: BELO SUR MER – MOROMBE: Between Forests and Rivers, Route to New Horizons

We start another day full of excitement and discoveries, embarking on a journey that reserves a fascinating crossing. Our journey takes us through long distances, but each kilometer is a treasure of unique experiences.
After an early morning departure, we delve into a track that winds through baobab forests and vast savannahs, painting the landscape with the magnificence of Malagasy nature. After covering 114 kilometers of road, we reach Manja, where we take a brief break to refresh before continuing our journey.
The next landmark is the picturesque village of Bevoay, where a special encounter awaits us. We cross the Mangoky River through a local ferry, immersing ourselves in the authenticity of this river experience. With the river at our backs, we still have 80 kilometers of road to complete our unforgettable adventure. Each curve of the road reveals new landscapes and brings us closer to the conclusion of this exciting chapter of our journey through Madagascar.
✓ Day 13: MOROMBE – ANDAVADAOKA: Heading to the Coastal Serenity of Andavadaoka
50 KMS – 2h30 secondary track
We start the day calmly, allowing for a relaxed start before embarking on our next journey. After days of extensive routes and thrilling adventures, we deserve a well-earned break.
From Morombe, a 50-kilometer track awaits us, leading us to one of Madagascar’s coastal gems: Andavadaoka. This idyllic beach presents itself as a paradise that combines the serenity of the ocean with the lushness of the surrounding nature.
Andavadaoka not only offers the opportunity to immerse ourselves in crystal-clear waters but also provides a wide range of marine activities. We will enjoy a full afternoon to explore and make the most of this charming seaside retreat in southern Madagascar. A palette of experiences awaits to be discovered in this coastal haven, marking another unforgettable moment in our journey.
✓ Day 14: ANDAVADAOKA
Today, we dedicate ourselves entirely to delight and tranquility on the idyllic beach of Andavadaoka. Immersing ourselves in this exceptional environment, we allow ourselves to enjoy the natural wonders that this coastal haven offers.
Andavadaoka, distinguished as a marine reserve by WWF due to its ecological uniqueness, unfolds before us. We have the opportunity to explore the unique marine depths of the Vezo ethnic fishing village through a dive, discovering the richness and diversity of its seabed. The hotel also offers the possibility to organize various marine excursions, providing experiences tailored to our tastes and preferences.
Depending on the season, other water activities will unfold before us, complementing our experience in this tropical haven. A day full of options to connect with nature and fully enjoy the serenity that Andavadaoka grants us.

We conclude our fascinating journey through Madagascar’s picturesque coastal track. The day unfolds between thorny bushes, baobab forests, and an exceptional beach, adding a memorable final touch to our journey. Upon reaching Ifaty, we immerse ourselves in a relaxed and beachy atmosphere.
The rest of the day is at your disposal to enjoy the wonders offered by this coastal haven. From the magnificent white sandy beach, we contemplate a beautiful sunset that paints the sky with warm tones and envelops the surroundings in a magical atmosphere.
This final day gives us the opportunity to reflect on the unforgettable experiences lived during our journey and appreciate the unique beauty of Madagascar before bidding farewell to this gem of the Indian Ocean.

For those who prefer solid ground, we explore the Reniala Reserve, home to a unique diversity of flora and fauna. We discover the peculiar “turtle village” and immerse ourselves in the authenticity of the region with a relaxed ox-cart ride through the picturesque fishing villages.

✓ Day 17: IFATY – TOLIARY – RANOHIRA: Stories and Treasures

We start our journey early to Toliary, a city that has evolved from an ancient Vezo fishing village in the 12th and 13th centuries to become the largest city in southern Madagascar. Taking the time to explore the city, we delve into its history and culture, and visit the renowned shell market after lunch.
We continue our journey to Ranohira, and as we progress, the charming villages along the way reveal the authenticity of local life. Before reaching Ranohira, we pass through Ilakaka, the sapphire capital, whose explosive development began after the discovery of the precious mineral in 1998. Currently, this place hosts one of the world’s largest sapphire deposits. With only 27 km left to reach Ranohira, we prepare to enter the next stage of our fascinating journey.
✓ Day 18: RANOHIRA: Exploring the Wonders of Isalo
This day is reserved for the astonishing experience of discovering Isalo National Park. Its creation in 1960 as a simple protected area preceded its official designation as a national park in 1999. This majestic sandstone massif, dating back to the Jurassic period, stands as one of the most impressive landscapes in Madagascar.
In Isalo, an extraordinary diversity of fauna coexists, including birdlife, rock reptiles, primates, and a unique and endemic flora of the region, including pachypodium, aloe, and euphorbia. The park offers various circuit options, adapted to the duration of the visit and the available time. Throughout this adventure, we will explore the different cultures of the Bara ethnic group, evidenced by various sites and sacred tombs within the park. Each step will be an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the richness of this unique environment.
✓ Day 19: RANOHIRA — RANOMAFANA
359 KMS – 5h30 / 06h – paved road
We have breakfast before embarking on our journey to Ranomafana. Our first stop on the way will be at the famous Anja Private Reserve, located 15 km south of Ambalavao. This community-managed enclave offers an exceptional opportunity to get up close to the daily life of various colonies of Catta lemurs, sharing their habitat with other endemic species of flora and fauna.
We continue our journey to Ambalavao, a lively town where, if we coincide with market days (Wednesday and Thursday mornings), we will witness the second-largest zebu market in Madagascar, after Tsiroanomandidy. Ambalavao is also known for its craftsmanship, highlighting the production of Antemoro paper, handmade with the bark of the Avoha bush, as well as the weaving of Madagascar’s wild silk fabrics. Our visit will include these workshops to immerse ourselves in local traditions.
After about an hour’s drive, we continue our journey through Fianarantsoa, one of the largest cities in southern Madagascar. If time allows, we will explore the upper part of the city, distinguished by its originality. Founded in 1830, Fianarantsoa was declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 2003. Finally, we will reach Ranomafana towards the end of the afternoon, ready to immerse ourselves in the richness of this natural environment.
✓ Day 20: RANOMAFANA — AMBOSITRA
157 KMS – 4h – paved road
The morning unfolds with an exciting excursion through the lush tropical forest of Ranomafana. This park, established in 1991 after the discovery of the Golden Hapalemur, an endemic lemur that feeds on bamboo leaves, currently hosts 12 lemur species, including the rare Flat-nosed Hapalemur and the Golden Hapalemur. The faunal richness of Ranomafana includes numerous birds, unusual amphibian and reptile species, as well as a varied flora that contributes to its renown. Unfortunately, many of these species are endangered.
After immersing ourselves in the biodiversity of Ranomafana, we will resume National Road 7, continuing our journey to Ambositra. This city stands out as the capital of marquetry and precious wood carvings. In Ambositra, we will explore the craftmanship of the locals in creating wonderful works of art in wood. The afternoon will provide an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rich culture and traditions of this artistic center before recharging for the upcoming adventures.
✓ Day 21: AMBOSITRA — ANTANANARIVO

After savoring a delicious breakfast, we will spend some time exploring the renowned Malagasy craftsmanship house in Ambositra. This city is famous for its exceptional marquetry and extraordinary carvings in precious wood that come out of its workshops. We will delve into the famous workshops of Zafimaniry art, which have significantly contributed to the artistic distinction of the city. Here, we will seize the opportunity to acquire unique souvenirs reflecting the craftsmanship of Ambositra.
After an enriching moment, we will embark on the journey back to the capital, Antananarivo. Upon arrival, we will have valuable time to make final purchases, explore the final charms of the city, and conclude our journey with a distinctive cultural touch. This day will offer the opportunity to reflect on the natural and cultural wonders we have experienced during our unforgettable journey through Madagascar.
✓ Day 22: ANTANANARIVO – SALIDA: Farewell to Madagascar and Return Home
International flight
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we will have the option to explore the city of Antananarivo according to the available schedule. Our visit will include the upper part of the city, where the Queen’s Palace is located, which suffered a fire in 1995 and is currently undergoing restoration. We will immerse ourselves in the rich history of the city by exploring monuments and remnants from the royal and colonial era, located in the same neighborhood, as well as the lively local markets.
